We had the opportunity to have a conversation with him and discuss how he got into technology staffing, what he finds the most exciting about working with clients and staff, and why he makes his career with Precision. What got you into technology staffing?
About ten years ago, I was working as an instructional designer and I was coaching professionals and students to build their professional skills sets. Through this, I realized how much technology simplifies thing. At this time, I was also training these individuals for a company in India. I was able to study the interview and selection process with this company. I soon realized that they wanted people who could solve problems using different technologies. Although I did not previously study or get a degree in technology, I became very interested in it and wanted to learn more. Ultimately, your interests push you in the direction of your career path. I had connections that informed me there were some great positions in Human Resources and Operations within the technology staffing industry and knew that was the path I wanted to go down.

Upon joining the technology staffing domain and in the initial days, I realized that 90% of the organizations in this ecosystem do not have the performance metrics defined, which later on went on to become one of my biggest passions and prompted me to stay in this industry. I would say, because of this industry, I chose to take up a certification in Data Analysis and the insatiable desire to drill down everything to numbers is just never- ending. I believe that numbers alone do not mean much but when analyzed in the right context, they can uncover a great deal about the organizational landscape.

What do you think is the most exciting about working with clients and staff on their technology?
My first thought when working with customers, both internal and external on is, “how can I solve this problem for them?” Everything I do in my role narrows down to this question of how I can help others. I am problem solving on a daily basis, and it always keeps me interested and excited when working.

Another thing I find exciting in this domain is that I need to not only evaluate people on their metrics but also conduct behavioral assessments, and as a certified Behavioral Analyst, the job becomes easier and exciting. With this, I really enjoy unearthing the behavioral aspects which even the person himself/herself may not be aware of, thereby helping the organization in crucial decisions like performance, behavioral issues, motivational factors etc. Interacting with people on a daily basis and getting an understanding of who they are is something I really enjoy.

What is it about Precision that makes you want to come into work every day?
The biggest reason Precision makes me want to come into work every day is the culture. This is one of the reasons I chose to work with Precision. Prior to accepting the position, I had the opportunity to talk with staff members and I soon realized how great of a work environment it is. The people that work at Precision are genuinely nice and are great to work with.

When I joined Precision’s team, I soon realized they were in a “growth mode”. Throughout my career, I have always wanted to join an organization that was growing because every one’s contribution matters. Because the organization was growing, I had become part of the growth story. With all of the great opportunities and responsibilities given to me by Precision, I experience a sense of an accomplishment on a regular basis.
